Barack Obama Sr.

Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (/ˈbærək hˈsn ˈbɑːmə/;[1][2] 18 June 1936 – 24 November 1982) was a Kenyan economist. He was the father of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. He is an important character in Dreams from My Father (1995).

Obama married in 1954 and had two children with his first wife, Kezia. He studied at the University of Hawaii where he met Stanley Ann Dunham, whom he married in 1961. They had a son, Barack II. Dunham divorced Obama three years later.[3]

Obama was killed in a car crash on 24 November 1982 in Nairobi at the age of 46.
